The Superior Housing Authority (SHA), located in Superior, Wisconsin, is in search of a dynamic leader to serve as Executive Director. The SHA, established in 1942, was the first Housing Authority in the State of Wisconsin. It provides housing assistance for over one thousand low income and income qualified individuals. Located on Lake Superior, and neighboring Duluth, the SHA is consistently “high performing” Housing Authority in a beautiful part of the upper Midwest.
The successful candidate will manage and lead a housing portfolio that includes approximately 466 units of public housing, over 100 Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), and property management services for five privately owned buildings that serve seniors, individuals and families.
A Bachelors’ degree and five or more years’ experience in housing management, community development, public administration or a closely related field, required. Advanced degree preferred.
A proven track record of successful personnel management, strategic and organizational planning, financial budgeting and budget administration required. Ability to successfully interact with local officials, regulatory agencies, and residents required. Must have proven leadership ability working with an active Board of Directors, staff, government officials, community service organizations, and residents.
Working knowledge of housing management programs, budgeting systems in public or private housing, tax credit programs, and WHEDA preferred. Experience in related industries will be considered. Grant-writing and grant administration a plus.
Salary range $95,000 to $115,000 and based on qualifications and experience.
